An online gambling site has corrected a glitch that made it impossible for punters to lose money on one of their betting games.

More than 200 gamblers benefitted from the bug on Swedish-based website Mr Green on Monday and Tuesday this week before the problem was identified, The Local reported.

The gamblers won't be able to keep the money they made betting on the game, called the "House of Fun", after the website corrected their accounts.

"What happened is that people could spend money without it being withdrawn from their account," website director Mikael Pawlo said.

"It was just like being at an automatic teller machine."

The website has 150,000 customers in Sweden, Finland, Britain and Austria.
